LEGO® Robotics Camp 2016 (Beginner)

Proud to present the Spearfish Robotics STEAM camp!  This camp is an intense training session for kids that want to learn to program LEGO® EV3 robots.  Basic robot design (discussing stability, sturdiness, and maneuverability features) is coupled with learning to program the Lab View based program, with program blocks with editable parameters (# rotations, % power, timer, port connection, etc). The classes are 1:00 to 3:30 PM, with the room available until 4:00 PM for clean-up and extended practice time. The class schedule includes:

Monday, June 13th - Build a Bot: Teams build a basic robot and test its maneuverability (via remote control) to improve design. Learn how to make sounds with your robot!

Tuesday, June 14th - Speed and Steer: Learn the basics with the LEGO® Mindstorms software - write a program and your robot will run autonomously!

Wednesday, June 15th - Figure 8: Learn how to draw a figure 8 autonomously with your robot! With lines, curves, and corners, variations on the figure 8 can be made.

Thursday, June 16th - Geometry: Learn the geometric shapes, discuss their properties, and predict how to draw them. Then learn how to use "loops" in the program to repeat the lines and corners to make congruous shapes and simple, elegant programs! Each shape will be drawn on giant paper with markers from your autonomous robot!
